Why has the state of Maine decided to cut case management services for children and adults with disabilities?
Case managers help thousands of Mainers, and many people do not realize how big a part of our lives they are. They help people who cannot express themselves. They help people share what they want to achieve in life and help them succeed in getting there.
Parents count on case managers to help them with their children who have disabilities. When parents try to help their children but get nowhere, case managers can step in and help.
If our legislators do not have children or family members with a disability or any type of challenge, how do they know about the decisions they make that affect all of us?
I implore the legislators to think about what they are doing.
