WATERVILLE — Stefan Vallee scored a key third-period goal and Devon Beland added two assists to lead the Lewiston High School hockey team past Waterville 3-2 in an Eastern A game Monday morning at Alfond Rink.

Matt Therrien and Jake Bergeron also scored for Lewiston, which ends the regular season 13-4-1.

JT Whitten scored twice for Waterville (4-13-0), which will need to beat Bangor (12-5-0) on Thursday to qualify for the Eastern A playoffs.

“We gave (Lewiston) everything we got,” Waterville coach Dennis Martin said.

Chris Lee had an assist and Cody Thibodeau had 34 saves, including one on a penatly shot, for Waterville.

Brian Wigant stopped 14 shots for the Blue Devils.

Yarmouth 4, Gardiner 2: Four different players scored to lead Yarmouth at North Yarmouth Academy.

Jeff McAuslin and Alex Nadeau scored for the Tigers, who finished the season 6-11-1.

“We couldn’t bury our chances early,” Gardiner coach Jeff Ross said.

Brad Moore stopped 23 shots for Gardiner as well.

Marshall Brunell, David Clemmer, Alex Watson and Eamon Costello scored for Yarmouth (11-5-1).
