AUGUSTA – Ruth Towne and Kirin DeSmith each posted double-doubles to lead No. 4 Seacoast Christian past no. 5 Forest Hills 60-34 in a Western D quarterfinal game Tuesday morning at the Augusta Civic Center.

Towne finished with a game-high 26 points and 13 rebounds for the Guardians (16-3), who will play either Richmond or Buckfield in the regional semifinals Thursday.

DeSmith had 16 points, 15 rebounds and three blocks for Seacoast.

They were bigger, stronger and more experienced,” Forest Hills coach Mike LeBlanc said. “They played with a lot of confidence, and that was what I was worried about.”

Dana McNally scored a team-high 10 points and Keely Taylor added eight to pace Forest Hills, which finished 12-7.
