AUGUSTA — Sixth-seeded Mt. Abram never overcame its slow first half in losing 58-42 to No. 6 Boothbay in a quarterfinal matchup Tuesday at the Augusta Civic Center.

The Roadrunners trailed 14-6 at the end of the first quarter then fell victim to a 15-1 Boothbay run in the second quarter that left them trailing 33-16 at the half. Mt. Abram cut the lead to eight (41-33) when Tori Beane hit a 3-pointer near the end of the first quarter but could draw no closer.

Beane led the Roadrunners with 14 points while Sarah Caron paced the Seahawks with 23 points and Meghan Smith added 14.
