FARMINGTON — Democrat Keith A. Welch, 70, has announced his candidacy for the District 89 Maine House of Representatives seat representing Farmington and Industry.
He is the former chairman of the Franklin County Democratic Committee.
He also cited his more than 30 years experience as an elementary and middle school teacher and principal as well as director of special services and of special needs programs in a news release about his candidacy.
He retired in 2003 and works as a substitute teacher.
Welch is a Farmington resident native and Wilton Academy, University of Maine at Farmington and University of Maine graduate.
He and his wife, Janalee, have two adult daughters and three grandchildren.
