ROCKPORT — Maine’s premier gathering of commercial fishermen is kicking off in Rockport.
The 37th annual Maine Fishermen’s Forum gets under way Thursday and runs through Saturday night at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.
The event is the largest of its kind in New England, bringing together thousands of fishermen, fishery managers, scientists, politicians, seafood dealers and others with an interest in commercial fishing.
The forum features seminars, a trade show, a benefit auction and a dinner and dance. Gov. Paul LePage is scheduled to make an appearance on Friday.
