VASSALBORO — The Northeast Region Certified Crop Advisors board of directors recently recognized Lauchlin Titus of Vassalboro as the 2011 CCA of the Year.

Titus is dedicated to his clients and his agronomic leadership in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

Titus is a Certified Professional Agronomist and Crop Advisor. He owns his own business called AgMatters LLC and has more than 35 years experience with Maine agriculture.

He has also served as chair of the Maine Nutrient Management Review Board for more than 10 years and president of the Maine Vegetable and Small Fruit Growers Association for 10 years. He has served on the Maine Ag in the Classroom council, two gubernatorial Dairy Task Forces, and Kennebec County’s Maine Farm Bureau. He is a member of the American Society of Agronomy, several Maine agricultural associations and is a certified nutrient management planner.

Titus served as a selectperson in Vassalboro.
