What does the Waterville girls track team need to do to garner front-page coverage?

They won the state title, and yet they had no mention on the front page of the paper, not even the front page of the sports page. Instead, they were relegated to a black and white picture on C3 and a grainy color picture on C4.

Bethanie Brown finally gets a writeup, but it took until the sixth paragraph before this incredible athlete was mentioned.

The paper has written about other distance runners in central Maine with color pictures included, all the while Bethanie has had the better times and she gets mentioned at the end of articles as a side note.

I do not have an athlete on the indoor girls track team; I’m just a fan who has been disappointed over and over by the coverage of our local paper of these athletes’ hard work and accomplishments.
