OAKLAND — Messalonskee High School will presenting a program featuring immigrants in Maine. The experiences and cultures of immigrants from African and Middle Eastern countries will be explored through personal stories, the arts, food and books.

The following events are scheduled at Messalonskee High School:

* Jan Pieter van Voorst van Beest, a Maine photographer, will speak at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 12, at the Messalonskee High School library. He will bring original gallery prints which will be on display at the high school through March.

* Three Somali immigrants residing in Lewiston and Auburn will discuss the conditions in Somalia that compelled them to immigrate to Maine at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 27.

* Colby student Sulaiman Nasseri, a native of Kabul, Afghanistan, will speak at 1 p.m. Friday, March 30.
