READFIELD — Recent snow has melted away because of mild temperatures, sinking plans for today’s Maranacook Family Fun Day & Winter Games.
Greg Leimbach, who helped organize the event, said the only activity still happening is the Alpine Ski Races at 9 a.m. at Kents Hill School Ski Area. All other scheduled events have been canceled.
Registration for ages 8-12 is between 7 -8:30 a.m. at the Readfield Fire Station.
“The snow’s gone,” Leimbach said Friday. “We didn’t think it was going to be this drastic.”
He said the family fun activities are canceled along with the cross-country ski races, snowmobile slalom run and ice skating races.
