BOSTON — Jenn Day had four goals to lead Thomas past Wheelock 14-4 in a non-conference women’s lacrosse game Sunday.

Day, a Gardiner graduate, also had an assist. Ceara DiBiase added three goals for the Terriers (2-1) while Brianna Yates chipped in with two goals. Megan Charest, Toral Nelson, Brianna Yates, Callie Joseph, Jasmine Ryan and Terissa Ridge scored a goal apiece. Teshia Cates made 13 saves.

Kylie Hefford scored two goals for the Wildcats (0-1).

Women’s lacrosse

Colby 16, UNE 5: Tess Petesch scored four goals to lead the Mules to the non-conference win in Biddeford.

Katie Griffin added three goals for Colby (2-0) while Lane McVey, Sarah Lux and Katharine Eddy scored two apiece. Claire Donegan and Lindsey McKenna also scored one goal each. Michelle Burt made six saves.

Hannah Tavella had four goals for UNE (2-2) while Gina Newsome had one.

Baseball

Fairfield 8, Maine 4: Colin Gay and Alex Calbick each had a pair of hits and scored a run, but the Black Bears lost in Winter Haven, Fla.

Maine falls to 5-8 while Fairfield improves to 5-7.

Softball

Harvard 3, Maine 2: Laura Ricciardone picked up the win, allowing two runs, none earned, on four hits while striking out five as the Crimson held on for the victory in Northridge, Calif.

Harvard improves to 7-3.

Dagmar Ralphs and Hilary Kane each drove in a run for Maine (4-16) while Jessica Burk went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles. Kylie Sparks took the loss, allowing three runs on eight hits and one strikeout.

Also Sunday: Messalonskee graduate Chris Pelletier had an assists as Husson defeated Massachusetts Maritime Academy 14-5 in men’s lacrosse action.
