OAKLAND — Gil Roy of Oakland recently took two Messalonskee High School foreign exchange students, Vasya Chernov and Amir Vafin, both of Russia, to Florida. The three of them spent one week visiting Disney World, Universal Studios, Daytona Beach and other cities.

Both girls recently shared the experience in letters.

“We had a great time which I’ll never forget. This experience will inspire me to come back to America and show these places to my family,” Vafin said.

“I remember when I was six years old, I dreamed of going to Disney World and Gil made my dream come true after 11 years of waiting. I will never forget this trip in my life,” Chernov said.
