I am extremely upset that you would block me from reading one of my favorite parts of your paper. Doonesbury/Gary Trudeau’s opinionated cartoons are necessary to our culture.

Thomas Nast was a social commentator who also used the comic strip venue. Would you want to go down in history as banning his views of then-unpopular commentary. We now accept many of Nast’s views as Americana.

The controversy attached to women’s rights vs. religious dogma can be highly explosive on both sides. I would think that your duty as a deliverer of the news, however, would not be to ban one side’s arguments while printing full explanations of Newt Gingrich’s statements.

Give us the information, no matter what format, and let us, the readers, decide which side to take.
