SIDNEY — Voters at Town Meeting on Saturday will decide whether to approve a major road project and capital spending at a town building.

In all, voters will consider 46 articles for a proposed $1.4 million in spending, plus a bond.

The proposed bond calls for a $500,000 project to reconstruct and re-pave Goodhue Road. Voters also will decide on an article to replace the furnace at the Grange hall for $40,000.

In 2011, voters approved $1.3 million in spending, almost $130,000 less than this year’s proposed amount.

If the articles are approved as written, taxes revenue will fund $455,941 of the overall budget. The rest will be paid through a combination of surplus, escrow and block grants.

On Friday, voters will fill two selectmen’s positions and a school board seat.

In the only contested race, Doug Eugley and Mark Gould are vying for a three-year term on the Board of Selectmen as write-in candidates.
