FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Colby College baseball team ran its winning streak to four games with a doubleheader sweep of Plymouth State on Saturday.

Nate Sugarbaker earned his second win of the season and Mike Mastrocola had three hits and four RBIs as Colby won the first game 17-2.

Brendan Gallagher hit a three-run home run and Dakota Rabbitt earned the victory as Colby won the second game 12-6.

Sugarbaker struck out eight and walked four in five innings of work for Colby (7-5). Reliever Mark Nelson didn’t allow a run over the final two innings.

Jason Buco added three hits and an RBI for Colby in the second game.

Husson 3-6, New England College 2-1: Nate Adams threw a complete-game seven hitter in Game 1 of a doubleheader, helping Husson earn a sweep in Bangor.

Messalonskee grad Dylan Foster went 1 for 3 in Game 1, driving in a run while scoring another.

In Game 2, lefty Mark Dvlinsky earned his first win of the season, allowing one earned run on five hits while striking out four in six innings.

Bryant 4-8, Maine 1-3: Mike Delponte hit a grand slam in Game 2 as the Bulldogs swept the Black Bears in Smithfield, R.I. Ian Leisenheimer hit a two-run home run for Maine (7-14) in the second game. Mike Connolly took the loss, allowing four hit and six runs in two innings. In Game 1, Colin Gay had an RBI single for the Black Bears. Jeffrey Gibbs took the loss on the mound, allowing three hits and four earned runs in six innings.

Wesleyan 19, Thomas 3: Chris Bonti went 4 for 6 with six RBIs and three runs scored to lead the Cardinals in the RussMatt Greater Phoenix Invitational in Scottsdale, Az. Joe Giaimo went 4 for 5 with four RBIs and four runs scored for Wesleyan (7-8).

Skowhegan graduate Cody Vigue and Ben Goodall each doubled for Thomas (3-6).

Men’s lacrosse

Husson 10, UM-Farmington 2: Matt Roy had a goal and an assist in the Beavers North Atlantic Conference loss in Farmington.

Ben Altmaier added his first collegiate goal, while Kris Gagne had an assist for UMF (0-4, 0-1).

Cris Pelletier had three goals while Nick Brown added two goals and two assists for Husson (4-4, 1-0).

Women’s lacrosse

UM-Farmington 18, Becker 4: Senior Emma Morrison scored five goals to lead the Beavers to the non-conference win in Leicester, Mass.

Maranacook graduate Alyssa Neptune added a hat trick will Messalonskee graduate Maddi Kadnar along with Miranda Levesque, Molly Carbin and Marisa Hanning each scored two goals. Amie Daniels and Abbey Gilbert scored a goal apiece. Hannah Goodenow made three saves for the Beavers (2-1).

Elizabeth Durate, Shannon Smith, Samantha Jo Dilkes and Kristen Mader scored for Becker (0-4). Karena Prescott stopped 10 shots.

Thomas 8, Wentworth 7: Gardiner graduate Jenn Day and Brittnay Premo each had three points as the Terriers earned the non-conference win in Waterville.

Premo had two goals and an assist while Day added a goal and two assists. Jasmine Ryan, Terissa Ridge, Ceara DiBiase, Jillian Lambert and Kim Migliara all scored a goal for Thomas.

Jess Houghton scored four goals for the Leopards.

College swimming

NCAA championships: Colby College senior Mason Roberts finished 19th in the 200-yard breaststroke, in Indianapolis, Ind.

Roberts finished in a time of 2 minutes, 5.79 seconds.

Crew: The Colby College men’s and women’s crew both finished first in their heats Saturday at the John Hunter Regatta, but did not compete in the finals because of travel obligations.

The Colby men’s varsity 8 finished with a time of 6 minutes, 36 seconds. The second men’s varsity eight finished third in their heat at 6:50.16.

The Colby women finished their heat in 7:45.96.

Also Saturday: Valley graduate Cindy Schultz and Monmouth graduate Kelsie Hilton each had RBI doubles as Maine Maritime swept Massachusetts Maritime 3-0 and 20-1 in softball action.
