WATERVILLE — National Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Awareness Month and KVCAP’s Family Enrichment Council recently announced activities for the month of April.

Lights for Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Awareness Month will be in Skowhegan, Waterville, Augusta and Hallowell. Look for blue twinkle lights in the windows of downtown businesses along the main streets in each of these towns showing support for KVCAP’s Family Enrichment Council and the goal to prevent child abuse and neglect. The lights will be displayed through April.

A Blue Light Vigil will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the kiosk in Castonguay Square. This is a rain or shine event.

Skowpendous Family Fun Night will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the Chamber of Commerce parking lot in downtown Skowhegan. This also is a rain or shine event and open to the community free of charge. A variety of activities have been added to the event in addition to geocaching, a climbing wall, live music and food.
