Move, Improve walk in Newport March 6
NEWPORT — The fourth annual Community Move and Improve Walk will begin at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Nokomis Regional High School. Organizers from Sebasticook Valley Health and Regional School Unit 19 will provide opportunities to participate in indoor walking, line dancing, walleyball and Zumba.

MADISON — Absentee ballots are available for the municipal referendum vote on borrowing $72 million for a natural gas pipeline and the Anson Madison Water District election. Voting is Tuesday, March 13. Ballots are available 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday at the Town Office.

Youth chorus classes begin March 7
AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Valley YMCA and a team of singers from Maine-ly Harmony Chorus will hold classes in four-part harmony a cappella barbershop-style singing at the Augusta YMCA facility, with the goal of further expanding the KVYMCA Youth Chorus.
UMF Living Language series events set
FARMINGTON — University of Maine at Farmington visiting Libra Professor and Abenaki scholar Lisa Brooks will collaborate with UMF faculty to present “Living Language,” a semester-long series focused on language exchange. The series will include several events focused on Native American language and culture indigenous to Maine and New England. The events are open to the public and will run through April. All events are free unless otherwise noted.
