Gardiner Adult Education offers college campus tours
GARDINER — Gardiner Adult Education will offer college tours during the months of March and April. Potential students will have the opportunity to tour the University of Maine at Augusta, Southern Maine Community College in Brunswick, Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield, and Central Maine Community College in Auburn.

Maine schools already using the new model
Based on staff research, these 22 Maine schools and districts are using at least some form of the proficiency-based education model being promoted by the Maine Department of Education. The schools are at different stages and are approaching it from different angles, such as using standards-based grading systems, or allowing students multiple ways to demonstrate they’ve mastered content.
