AUGUSTA — Trek Across Maine Indoors — a 12-week training spinning class program to prepare those participating in the American Lung Association’s Trek Across Maine — will begin on April 2 at Kennebec Valley YMCA.

AUGUSTA — The Maine Arts Commission’s Art in the Capitol has announced that an exhibit of 19 paintings by Alden Grant are on display in the State of Maine Capitol Complex.

RICHMOND — Marcia Buker School, 28 High St., will hold kindergarten registration on June 1 and preschool screening and registration on June 4, 5 and 6.

AUGUSTA — Fourth-grade students at Farrington School, 249 Eastern Ave., seek donations of new books or money which can be used to buy books. Part of a student service-learning project, all donations will benefit homeless children in Augusta.

AUGUSTA — St. Michael School, 56 Sewall St., will register new students for pre-kindergarten through eighth grade on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the school gym.

READFIELD — Readfield Elementary School, 84 South Road, will hold preschool registration for the 2012-13 school year from 8 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. May 11.
