It is my privilege each year to attend the town meetings of our partner towns to discuss the services offered by the Gardiner Public Library.

This library is a truly regional library that serves the municipalities of Gardiner, Pittston, West Gardiner, Randolph and Litchfield. Many people who use the library consider it to be an essential service in their lives. We are their community center, informational center and, sometimes, recreational center.

The Gardiner Public Library will be only as good as the people it serves, and the people of the lower Kennebec Valley are just the best.

Last month, the residents of Pittston and West Gardiner showed their support of the library by attending their town meetings and voting to continue this partnership. I would like to express my appreciation for the support these two towns give to the library, as well as to all the people who visit the library.

The Gardiner Public Library has much to offer: Music, movies, magazines, free Internet instruction, downloadable ebooks and, yes, we still have books that will answer your questions, feed your curiosity and take you to places you never imagined existed, all with the turn of a page.
