I am state employee. I can’t wait until you need something from my office.

I am a state employee. You froze my pay; you cheer when my pay or benefits are cut. I am a state employee. You hate me if I teach your children; you hate me if I earn enough to live on.

I am a state employee. For now, I have health care; you hate that I decided to take lower pay in exchange for security.

You don’t know me, yet you call me lazy or overpaid or far worse. I can’t wait until you need something from my office.

On the day you come into my office needing your paperwork handled or needing a fair hearing, I will know you. Then it is my turn.

I will take your application, hear your case. I will do the best possible job I can to make your day a good one and to make your problems go away.

I am in state service, and that means I will serve you with respect, with efficiency, with the intent to make the system work for you, not against you.

I hope when you leave you will have been treated professionally, quickly, fairly, and received all the help you feel you needed. I can’t wait until you need something from my office.
