I just finished reading facts about the 1987 flood. I also remember very well a very big flood back in 1936, when we lost the Waterville and Winslow bridge.

We had large pieces of ice packed against the fence at the Hathaway Shirt factory, and we watched little buildings float down the Kennebec River. Lots of buildings close to the river were lost that year.
