BANGOR — Dale Winchenbach pitched a complete game and had two hits as the University of Maine at Farmington baseball team won the first game of a doubleheader with Husson University 4-2 on Thursday afternoon.

Husson came back to win the second game 9-8.

Winchenbach allowed one earned run on four hits, while striking out four and walking two for UMF (3-9, 2-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference East Division). Center fielder Ethan Jean had two RBIs for the Beavers.

In the second game, Josh Tardiff went 2 for 3 with a home run and drove in three runs for Husson (8-11, 5-3 in the conference). Casey Estes added two RBIs and added a pair of hits.

Also Thursday: Erskine Academy graduate Nick Grady was 2 for 4  as the University of Southern Maine baseball team lost to Salem State 12-1.
