WILTON — A Jay man was killed when he crashed his pickup truck into a telephone pole early Saturday morning, police said.
David Goulette, 44, was driving on Route 156 when the crash happened just south of U.S. Route 2, Wilton Police Department stated in a release.
His 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche veered off the road and hit a pile of rocks, sending the truck flying into a telephone pole. Police found Goulette, who was ejected from the vehicle, dead upon their arrival after the crash was reported at about 12:19 a.m., the release states.
Speed appears to be a factor in causing the crash and police continue to investigate.
