Staff Report

State police are looking for an armed robber of a Farmingdale barbershop, who they believe would have been on the Kennebec Rail Trail early Saturday morning.

Police believe the robber, a man in his 20s or 30s, with a beard, dark hair, hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, may have been on the rail trail between Farmingdale and Gardiner between 5:30 and 7 a.m. Saturday and they want to hear from anyone who saw him, said Trooper Eric Verhille.

Verhille said the man fits the description of someone who robbed Martin’s Barber Shop on Main Street.

He wouldn’t specify what type of weapon was used.

He said the robber got away with cash, but Verhille wouldn’t say how much.

Verhille asked anyone with information to call the state police.
