Maranatha Assembly Church

ANSON — Maranatha Assembly Church will hold a Sunrise service at 6 a.m. Sunday at the Atheran Cemetery. A free Easter breakfast is planned at 7:30 a.m. at the church on Church Street and all are invited to attend. Sunday school will start at 9 a.m. and the regular worship service will follow at 10 a.m.

Farmington Area

Ecumenical Ministry

FARMINGTON — Easter Sunrise service, sponsored by the Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry, will be at 6:07 a.m. Sunday. People should meet at the intersection past the farm buildings. Voter Hill is a little more than a mile past the former WKTJ radio station; turn left and go straight up the hill.

The service will be held rain or shine; dress warm and wear boots. All who attend are invited indoors for muffins and beverages served at the home of Fred and Denise Brittain. A continental breakfast will be served by members of one of the local ministry churches.

Pilgrim Commandery

19 Knights Templar

EAST WILTON — Pilgrim Commandery 19 Knights Templar will hold its annual Easter service and breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the Farmington/Wilton Harnden Masonic Hall on Bryant Road. All Sir Knights and Masons are invited to attend along with their sons and grandsons. Donations will be accepted for the breakfast.

CLINTON — Easter festivities are planned at Brown Memorial United Methodist Church.

St. Romanos Singers celebrates April 15

WATERVILLE — In celebration of the Resurrection of Christ, St. Mark’s Episcopal Church will offer a meditative service at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at the church. The Second Sunday of Eastertide in the Western tradition this year falls on the Paschal Festival of the Eastern Tradition. Prayers, psalms, and other liturgical music appropriate to the Easter Feast will be sung, in English, and in the Russian style. The singers are a small group of St. Mark’s parishioners who take the name of the 6th century Greek poet and composer of Church Music, St. Romanos.

This event is free and the community is invited to attend this brief observance of the season.

Benefit concert set for May 12 in Strong

STRONG — Two bands, Greater Purpose and Backyard Bluegrass Band, will team up to give an uplifting performance to benefit “The Community Table” at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Forester Memorial Building. The concert is free.

Light refreshments and fellowship. All donations collected will benefit “The Community Table.”
