FAIRFIELD — A 7-year-old was playing Xbox at a neighbor’s house Tuesday night as police scoured the Silver Street area searching for him.
The boy, who lives on Silver Street, was reported missing at 7:07 p.m., said Fairfield police Chief John Emery.
Police and fire personnel were called to the scene, said Emery, as were a Somerset County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team and the Maine Warden Service.
A Fairfield police officer who had searched the youth’s home was in the driveway when the boy walked home, Emery said.
The boy, said the chief, indicated he had been at a neighbor’s home playing video games on Xbox.
The warden service and K-9 team were canceled, Emery said; police and fire personnel cleared the scene at 7:55 p.m.

4:51 p.m., Seth E. Taylor, 21, of 390 Upper Ridge Road, Fairfield, was summoned on a charge of criminal mischief on Bridge Street.
IN OAKLAND, Wednesday at 8:34 p.m., a 17-year-old male was summoned on a charge of sale and use of drug paraphernalia on Oak Street. He was released to his parents.
