TOPSHAM — Jon Brown scored four goals and Jeremy Hart added two to lead the Mt. Ararat High School boys lacrosse team past Messalonskee 9-6 in the season opener for both teams Friday night.

Senior attacker Nate DelGiudice paced Messalonskee, the defending Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A champs, with two goals and three assists.

Senior attacker Luke Vigue scored two goals and added an assist. Junior Dom Dexter and sophomore Ben Weeks also scored for Messalonskee, while Jake Smith finished with 17 saves.

Ed McGuire had 12 saves to earn the victory for Mt. Ararat (1-0).
