I would like to thank the newspaper for the article celebrating the victory of Waterville High School’s Science Olympiad team at the state competition.

The students worked hard all year to become the state champions, and they’ve been able to do so because of the wonderful support of their teachers.

John Ramgren and Rosemarie Smith have devoted countless weeknights and Sunday afternoons to supervising the team, and almost the entire science faculty of the high school attended the recent all-day meet at the University of Southern Maine. That teachers volunteer so much of their personal time to an educational extracurricular activity is often under-appreciated and unrecognized. This letter is to let them know how much we value their efforts.
