AUGUSTA — Viles Arboretum, 153 Hospital St., will offer the Flying Wild teacher workshop on April 27.

The workshop will be facilitated by Lisa Kane of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, who will teach about migratory birds and their conservation needs and provide information about the bird conservation community in Maine.

Doors will open at 8 a.m. and the workshop will begin at 9 a.m. A light breakfast and coffee and lunch will be served. There is no cost.

Open to Maine teachers of kindergarten-12th grade students, participating educators will receive a complimentary copy of “Flying WILD: An Educator’s Guide to Celebrating Birds” and a certificate indicating six hours of professional development training. Space is limited and early registration is recommended.
