UNITY — The Unity Barn Raisers will host a benefit community Meal on Saturday, May 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Unity Community Center, 32 School St.

The meal will feature burgers from grass-fed local cows, fiddlehead pasta salad and beans grown in Unity Barn Raisers’ Triplet Park.

Dessert and beverages are included, and vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options will be available.

Before the meal, community members are invited to take part in a volunteer work party for the Unity Barn Raisers’ Veggies For All project, which grows vegetables to give to those in need.

At 3 p.m., members of the group, which works to relieve hunger by growing vegetables for people in need, will plant onions in the field near the Dorothy W. Quimby Library at Unity College.

All proceeds from the meal will benefit Unity Barn Raisers’ Veggies For All project. The suggested donation is $7 to $15, sliding scale. No one will be turned away for lack of money.
