Five of the nine people arrested on Nov. 27, following our government’s eviction of Occupy from Capitol Park, will be tried in Superior Court, Augusta, beginning at 8:30 on Wednesday and Thursday. I’d like to issue an invitation for anyone who is interested to attend.

Signs are allowed outside on the sidewalk but not allowed in the courtroom.

This will be an unusual trial, in which no alleged violence or thievery is involved but rather the nature of justice itself. The courtroom is an architectural wonder, very beautiful and impressive. Judge Nancy Mills will preside.

If I were a high school teacher and not on trial myself, I would consider taking my students to hear this example of the judiciary branch of our government in action. This is a cool learning opportunity. We live in interesting times.

Support the awareness that Occupies everywhere are trying to raise.
