Holocaust survivor Dr. Julius Ciembroniewicz, of Winthrop, stands Sunday at the end of the Yom HaShoah services at the Holocaust and Human Rights Center of Maine in Augusta. The Center commemorated the death of six million Jews during the Holocaust on the Day of Remembrance with prayers by Rabbis Hillel Katzir, Susan Bulba Carvutto and the Rev. Ted Chaffee and songs by Cantor Deborah Marlowe followed by a screening of the French movie “La Rafle.”  Ciembroniewicz, an Augusta neurosurgeon, survived the Holocaust in Poland by being hid in a monastery.
