SKOWHEGAN — Dustin Warren hit a two-run double and three pitchers combined to throw a one-hitter as the Skowhegan Area High School baseball team beat Lawrence 5-1 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Tuesday.
John Swett scored on a suicide squeeze by Chase McKenney in the fourth inning for Skowhegan (1-2). Derek McCarty started and earned the win for the Indians. Ben Salley and Cody Moody came on in relief.
Isiah Fleming’s infield single in the fifth inning was the only hit for Lawrence (0-3).
Oxford Hills 10, Erskine 9, 8 innings: Ty Martin had a two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth to lift the host Vikings in a wild game at South Paris.
Erskine (1-2) scored four runs in the top of the eighth, highlighted by a two-run double from Jory Humphrey, to take a 9-5 lead.
However, the Vikings (2-1) scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth thanks to three Erskine errors.
Humphrey finished with two doubles and Shyler Scates pitched the complete game for Erskine.
Winslow 9, Mt. View 2: Dylan Hapworth struck out eight in five innings, helping the Black Raiders take the KVAC B win in Winslow.
Winslow (2-1) broke open the game with six runs in the fourth inning.
Hapworth walked one and allowed one hit, a single by Tyler McCormick. At the plate, Hapworth had two singles and scored a pair of runs.
Bangor 6, Messalonskee 1: Hunter Boyce had two singles and an RBI to lead the Rams to the KVAC A win in Bangor.
Curtis Worcester pitched a complete game to earn the victory. He allowed just five hits.
Sam Dexter had two singles and Travis St. Pierre had an RBI to lead the Eagles (1-2).
Forest Hills 8-6, Valley 4-7: Carrington Miller hit a walk-off single to score Colin Miller with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning of Game 2 to help Valley earn a split in the doubleheader.
Miller went 4 for 7 in the doubleheader and earned the victory in the Game 2.
In the opener, Nate Jalbert went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Ethan Levesque went 2 for 3 with two runs scored to lead Forest Hills (1-1).
Dylan Belanger went 2 for 2 and drove in a run for Valley (1-1).
Belanger finished 4 for 6 with three RBIs.
