CARRABASSETT VALLEY — More than 250 lodge members and guests are expected to convene at the 83rd annual Maine Elks Association Convention at Sugarloaf USA next weekend.

The festivities begin Friday with the presentation of individual lodge awards for various achievements including service to youth programs, veterans, the Elks National Foundation and more.

There will also be a special recognition and toast as the Elks celebrate receiving $3 million in donations for Maine Children’s Cancer Program.
