On June 12, Democrats in Albion, Benton, Clinton, Unity Township, Waterville and Winslow (District 25) will choose between two excellent candidates for state senator. I have been impressed by both and will actively support the winner.

My strong support of Colleen Madigan Lachowicz of Waterville stems most of all from her longtime commitment and work in the district. Lachowicz has worked in the mental health field since 1997, and since 2005 has led school-based mental health services in Kennebec and Somerset counties.

Lachowicz has devoted years of her life to helping young people and their families in truly difficult situations such as foreclosure, job loss and denial of insurance. I have turned to her for help when working with constituents in distress. Further, Lachowicz always conveys the importance of personal responsibility, work ethic and the dangers of substance abuse.

On June 12, vote for Colleen Lachowicz.
