Maine author Jo Ann Simon has recently republished her best-selling novel, “Beloved Captain: A Nantucket Love Story” (Maine Authors Publishing). She will be signing copies of the book at Beyond the Sea in Belfast on Saturday, May 12,  from 1 to 4 p.m.

In the novel, Catherine Sternwood retreats from her busy life in California to the Nantucket home she inherited from her grandparents. The 200-year-old house brings her the serenity she craves — and something more. Catherine soon learns she is sharing the house with Lucien Blythe, a wealthy merchant captain who had lived there a century and a half earlier—and had vanished without a trace.

Simon is the author of over 30 best selling novels. She is the recipient of several awards, including Best Time Travel novelist for “Love Once in Passing” and “Love Once Again,” as stated in a news release.

Writing as Joanna Campbell, she is also an author of young adult novels, including the internationally published Thoroughbred Series (Harper Collins) about girls and horse racing. “Beloved Captain” was originally published by Avon Books. She lives in Camden.
Beyond the Sea is located at 74 Main St. in Belfast.
