A non-resident taxpayer of Eustis Ridge, who owns property in residential/recreation zoning is allowing a commercial business to submit an application to put up a 150-foot cell tower on a prime, scenic piece of property on Eustis Ridge.

Some people may think this is great news: Cell phone use wherever we go, no dropped calls or interference.

We still can have that, but the tower doesn’t have to be in a residential neighborhood.

Many of the mountains, hills and ridges that surround us would work just as well. Why choose Eustis Ridge, which many of us can see and enjoy?

This area is a historical landmark for the locals. It is a destination sight for visitors, artists, photographers, outdoor enthusiasts.

We must protect our lands for future generations. Please do not sell out, our beautiful, pristine, panoramic views to corporate America. Don’t let these big companies come in and fill their pockets at our expense. This is wrong.

We urge interested people to express their concerns at the Planning Board’s public hearing scheduled for 6:30 p.m. May 14 at Stratton/Eustis Community Building.
