HALLOWELL —  The third annual AIDS Walk of Central Maine is scheduled for Saturday and will start at the waterfront park.
The event benefits MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Horizon Program which provides quality comprehensive medical and social services to people in central and mid-coast Maine identified as HIV-positive.
The Horizon Program has offices in Augusta and Gardiner.
Participants Saturday will do a 5K walk or 10K run. Check-in is at 9:30 a.m., the walk starts at 10:15 a.m. and a silent auction will be at noon.
Auction items include a scenic flight from Airlink, skydive tandem jump from Skydive New England, Portland Sea Dogs tickets and a surprise gift from the Boston Red Sox.
The family event will include a cookout, clowns, face-painting and more. It is a dog-friendly event and all dogs must be leashed.
