READFIELD — Two people were injured Saturday when two vehicles crashed on Main Street.
The drivers, Barbara Damren, 60, of Mount Vernon and John Forbes, 43, of Readfield, were each taken by ambulance to the hospital, said Maine State Police Trooper John York. One went to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, and the other went to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston; but York was unable to specify which patient went where. None of the injuries was believed to be life-threatening, York said.
The crash occurred just before 9:30 a.m. as Damren turned her 2000 Subaru Legacy left off Plains Road to head south on Route 17. She pulled in front of Forbes’ 2007 Nissan Titan, which was headed north on Route 17, York said. York’s pickup truck hit the front of Damren’s Subaru.
The road was closed around the intersection for about 20 minutes, York said.
Police are filing no charges in connection with the crash.
