HALLOWELL — The third annual AIDS Walk of Central Maine is scheduled for Saturday and will start at the waterfront park.
The event benefits MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Horizon Program, which provides quality comprehensive medical and social services to people in central and mid-coast Maine identified as HIV-positive.
The Horizon Program has offices in Augusta and Gardiner.
Participants Saturday will do a 5k (3.1 mile) walk or 10k (6.2 mile) run. Check-in is at 9:30 a.m., the walk starts at 10:15 a.m. and a silent auction will be at noon.
The event includes a cookout, clowns, face-painting and more. It is dog-friendly, but dogs must be leashed.
