AUGUSTA — Nicole Rugan set the Cony High School single-season home run record with her sixth to help the Rams cruise to a 12-0 victory over Brunswick in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Monday.

Rugan moved past Devon Gaslin, who hit five home runs in 2004.

“It was a towering shot,” said Cony coach Rocky Gaslin on Rugan’s home run, which came with a runner on in the fourth inning.

It was one of four home runs the Rams hit.

Freshman Arika Brochu hit two home runs and finished with five RBIs.

Winning pitcher Sonja Morse also homered and drove in two runs. Olivia Deeves had a pair of singles and two RBIs for Cony (14-0).

Brunswick dropped to 1-13.

Messalonskee 6, Skowhegan 4, 10 innings: Emily York hit a sharp two-run single to left-center field in the top of the 10th inning to lift the Eagles past the Indians in Skowhegan.

Natalie Hunt had singled and Phoebe Pelletier and Kylee Knight walked in the 10th inning before York’s game-winning hit.

Knight doubled and tripled for Messalonskee (11-2), and winning pitcher Kassi Michaud doubled and singled. Michaud struck out six in the win, and threw eight shutout innings after allowing four runs in the bottom of the second.

Taylor Johnson and Mikayla Fitzmaurice each singled twice for Skowhegan (7-6), and Anna Lorette drew four walks. Kaitlyn Therriault struck out nine.

Erskine Academy 8, Mt. Ararat 4: Alison Gaudin hit a double and Hannah Peabody added three singles to lead Erskine Academy to a win over Mt. Ararat in South China.

Alyssa Gartley earned the win for Erskine (10-3), improving her record to 6-2 while pitching all seven innings.

Shauna Williams had a single and double, while Tayler Pare had two singles for Mt. Ararat (4-9).

Oak Hill 5, Winslow 2: Alyssa Rouleau laid down a suicide squeeze to score Marissa Caskin during a four-run first inning as Oak Hill beat Winslow in a KVAC B game in Wales.

Oak Hill (8-6) took advantage of two errors and two passed balls to score four times in the first. Kortni Michaud pitched a complete game to earn the win, striking out five, walking none and allowing four hits. Michaud and Brianna Hodgkins doubled for Oak Hill.

Megan Richard pitched a complete game for Winslow (8-6).
