SOUTH CHINA — Shyler Scates struck out 10 and didn’t walk a batter to lead Erskine Academy to a 5-1 win against Mt. Ararat in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A baseball action Monday.

Tom Grady belted a three-run triple ine the third inning with two outs for Erskine (9-4). Teammate Brenden Wood added a single and double while Torrey Charnock doubled and singled twice for Mt. Ararat (3-10).

Lawrence 5, Mt. Blue 4: Alex Leathers went 2 for 4 with an RBI and the Bulldogs earned their first victory of the season.

Isiah Fleming pitched a complete game to earn the win for Lawrence (1-12).

Bradley Jackson went 2 for 3 with three RBIs for Mt. Blue (4-9). Cameron Abbott and Jordan Whitney each had two hits.

Valley 9, Forest Hills 6: Josh West and Dylan Belanger hit back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning as the Cavaliers scored three times on their way to an East-West Conference win.

Valley (5-6) drew four consecutive walks after the back-to-back homers to add an insurance run. Seth Malloy added two singles.

For Forest Hills (6-6), Derek Ouellette and Matt Turner each had a single and a home run.

Waterville 13, Oceanside 3: JT Whitten had two doubles and a single to lead the Purple Panthers to the Eastern B victory in Waterville. Danny Pooler and Aidan Fitzgerald each had two singles for Waterville (13-1).

AJ Godin earned the victory, allowing just one earned run in a complete-game performance.

Oceanside dropped to 7-7.

Maranacook 9, MCI 4: Ryan Vanek and Nate Johnson combined to strike out 11 as the Black Raiders beat the Huskies in a KVAC B game in Pittsfield.

Vanek earned the win to improve to 2-2. Cam Brochu and Jake Murphy both doubled for Maranacook (8-6).

Dylan Watrous had a double and a single, while Cam Michaud had two singles for MCI (0-12).

Mt. Abram 5, Carrabec 4: Jay Chenard and Sol Fast each had two singles to help lead the Roadrunners to a win over the Cobras in North Anson.

Arthur Ryan contributed to the offensive effort for Mt. Abram (3-9) with a triple.

Paul Dawe had two singles for the Cobras (1-11).

Oak Hill 1, Winslow 0: Josh Martin threw a complete game three-hit shutout to lead Oak Hill to the KVAC B win.

Martin struck out 14. Oak Hill (3-11) scored the only run of the game in the sixth inning, when Jake Banister scored on Brady Dionne’s two out single.

For Winslow (10-4), Dylan Hapworth and Logan Hewes combined on a three-hitter.
