BOSTON — Barney Frank, longtime Massachusetts congressman and Harvard graduate, will be addressing students at the university’s Class Day.

He’s scheduled to speak at the Wednesday afternoon event, which is part of commencement ceremonies.

Frank announced last year he will be retiring after more than three decades in office. He’s known for being a liberal lightning rod and the highest-profile member of the state’s all-Democratic House delegation. He represents Massachusetts 4th Congressional District.

Before Republicans won control of the House, Frank was chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and was key in crafting the Dodd-Frank bill, which contained the stiffest restrictions on banks and Wall Street since the Great Depression. He currently serves as the committee’s ranking member.
