THORNDIKE — The Waterville Senior High School baseball team banged out 16 hits on its way to a 15-4 win against Mt. View in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Friday called after six innings due to the mercy rule.
The two-time defending Class B state champions finished the regular season 15-1 and get a chance to avenge their only loss when they host Morse next Friday in the conference game.
Dan Pooler and Racean Wood each doubled and singled twice for Waterville, while J.T. Whitten and Tyler Bouchard both had three singles and Aiden Fitzgerald had two hits.
Jake Aitken doubled for Mt. View (4-11).
Mt. Blue 4, Skowhegan 3, 9 innings: Jordan Whitney drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning as the Cougars beat the Indians in a KVAC A win.
Skowhegan (6-10) led 3-0 after three innings, but Mt. Blue (6-9) scored one run in the fourth and two in the sixth inning to tie the game. Whitney, Nick Hilton and Andrew Pratt each had two hits for the Cougars.
Trevor Hisler had two hits for Skowhegan.
Messalonskee 10, Hampden 3: Travis St. Pierre hit a two-run double in a seven-run fifth inning to break open a close game.
Jake Dexter and Trevor Gettig each had two hits to pace the Eagles (10-5).
Fred Knight had two singles to lead Hampden (8-7).
Richmond 24-9, Rangeley 9-0: Ben Carver had four hits and four RBIs in the first game as the Bobcats swept a doubleheader in Jay.
Tyler Harrington and Dustin Sullivan each added a pair of hits in the first game for Richmond (4-10).
In the second game, Kade Strout struck out five, walked three and gave up three hits to earn the shutout.
Rangeley falls to 3-11.
Lisbon 10, Madison 8: Dalton Dunphy had a two-run triple as the Greyhounds beat the Bulldogs in a Mountain Valey Conference game in Lisbon.
Brandon Hovey also tripled for Lisbon (7-7).
Jack Money had two RBIs and Cody Soucier scored a pair of runs for Madison (5-10).
MCI 4, Winslow 3: The Huskies score din the sixth on an error to pull off the KVAC B upset. Mason Lasselle singled twice for MCI (115) while Justin Fortier had three hits for Winslow (10-6), Mike McLaughlin doubled twice and McKenzie Michaud singled and doubled.
Boys lacrosse
Messalonskee 17, Oxford Hills 3: Nate DelGiudice had five goals and 10 assists while Luke Vigue also scored five goals to lead the Eagles to the Class A win in South Paris.
Ben Weeks added three goals for Messalonskee (8-4) while Dom Dexter, Josh Towle, Eric VanDerKarr and Aiden Calkins each had one.
Jake Smith and Dylan Clark combined to make 12 saves.
Ben Braun, Conner Beede and Austin Shute each scored a goal for the Vikings (1-10).
Tim Hutchinson made 23 saves.
