The Maine Marine Patrol and other law enforcement agencies continued to search the Cathance River in Bowdoinham today for a man who went missing during a canoe trip last night.

Santana Dubon, 32, of Portland, was in a canoe with two family members when the canoe capsized last night around 7:30 p.m., said Sgt. Daniel White of the marine patrol. The two others made it to shore, but Dubon has not been found.

The search continued until about midnight and resumed this morning at daybreak. Divers, kayakers and a plane continue to search the river near the Route 24 bridge in Bowdoinham. White said efforts have been hampered by murky water.

He declined to say whether Dubon was wearing a life preserver or give any other details about the accident, which is under investigation. He did ask boaters to avoid the area during the search.
