FAYETTE — Selectmen will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday to consider giving final approval to the articles that will appear on the warrant for the annual Town Meeting on June 16.

Other items are also on the selectmen’s agenda, including a wood pellet bid interview and the award of the library painting contract.

Town Manager Mark Robinson said he expects some articles on the proposed town warrant — including several dealing with roads and maintenance and a change in health care benefits funding — to generate the most discussion.

If the warrant is adopted as proposed, taxes in Fayette would remain at $13.55 per $1,000 worth of property to support a budget of just over $2.1 million, which is $17,000 more than the current year’s budget, according to Robinson.

One article proposes to discontinue public easements in certain roads that are not maintained by the town and to accept as a town road parts of Young Road where people live.

Another article asks whether residents want to raise $18,000 to fund a Health Care Reserve Account to address the transition from the current health care benefit plan to a higher deductible/lower cost plan.

Residents also will be asked whether to forward $25,000 raised last year to the town of Wayne to help pay for improvements at Lovejoy Pond Dam, and whether to lease/purchase an excavator at an estimated cost of $18,000 a year, which is what the town pays each year to rent one.

Another article seeks more hours for the codes enforcement officer to be used for land use violation enforcement.

The business portion of the annual Town Meeting begins at 9 a.m. June 16 at Fayette Central School.

Residents will also vote on the proposed school budget articles at the same town meeting.
