FARMINGDALE — Top-seeded Hall-Dale won all five matches in straight sets Thursday in posting a 5-0 victory against No. 8 Wiscasset in a quarterfinal match of the Western Maine Class C girls tennis tournament.

Wendy Goldman won 6-0, 6-0 at first singles while Clio Barr posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at second singles. Shelby McGibney won her third singles match 6-2, 6-2. The first doubles team of Jana Parsons and Nicole Pelletier won 6-2, 6-0 while the second team of Anais Truman and Maura Stottler won 6-2, 6-0. Hall-Dale (13-0) advances to play Lisbon while Wiscasset finishes at 6-8.

Eastern Class A boys

No. 1 Bangor 5, No. 8 Erskine 0: The top-seeded Rams shut out the Eagles in a quarterfinal, winning all three singles matches and both doubles in straight sets. Bangor (13-0) advances to play Messalonskee while No. 8 Erskine finishes at 4-9.

No. 2 Lewiston 3, No. 7 Cony 2: The Rams nearly pulled off an upset, losing a tiebreaker and the eventual match at first doubles. No 2 singles player Dallas Clark gave Cony a win with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory against Brian Hall while the No. 2 doubles team of Levi Pelletier and Thon Itthipalakorn won 6-3, 6-0. Lewiston (11-2) moves on to play the Edward Little-Hampden winner while Cony fiinshes at 7-6.

No. 5 Messalonskee 3, No. 4 Brunswick 2: The Eagles pulled off the upset in Brunswick with Jai Aslam and Billy Noble winning at first and third singles. Aslam defeated Jon Gross 6-1, 6-3 while Noble beat Cormick Gaughran 6-7 (7-5), 6-4, 6-2. The first doubles team of Ben Collins and Tyler Jones also won for the Eagles, beating Blake Gordon and Derek Devereau 6-2, 7-5. Messalonskee (8-5) advances to play No. 1 Bangor while Brunswick finishes at 9-4.

Western Class B boys

No. 4 Maranacook 3, No. 5 Morse 2: The Black Bears nipped the Shipbuilders as both doubles teams won to secure the win. Morse’s Sam Leeman downed Jason LaPorte, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 1 singles while Maranacook’s Matt Surette won at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-0. Maranacook’s third singles player, Sam Bryant, lost 6-1, 6-2 to Dylan Harrington. The first doubles team of Alex Daigle and Kelby Mace won 6-2, 6-1, while the second doubles team of Tanner Webb and Tommy Lanphear won 6-1, 6-1.

Maranacook (11-2) advances to play No. 1 Falmouth while Morse finishes at 7-6.

Western Class C boys

No. 3 Monmouth 5, No. 6 Winthrop 0: The Mustangs swept the Ramblers with Casey Smith and Nick Trenholm winning in straight sets at first singles and Robert Vickerson defeating Alex Chamberland 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at third singles. The doubles teams of Kyle Brown and Chris Taylor and Ben Bolstridge and Joe Menice both won in straight sets. Monmouth (11-2) moves on to play No. 2 Dirigo today while Winthrop closes at 8-5.

Eastern Class A girls

No. 3 Lewiston 5, No. 6 Cony 0: The Blue Devils won all five matches in straight sets. Cony’s Melanie Guzman fell at first singles 7-5, 6-1 while Alli Chase fell 6-1, 6-3 at second singles and Bethany Elwell lost 6-0, 6-4 at third singles. Maggie Priest and Allison Guzzetti represented the Rams at first doubles while Katie Guzman and Molly Daniel played second singles. Lewiston (11-2) plays Hampden in the semifinals while Cony finishes at 6-7.
