COLUMBIA, S.C. — Army Spec. Michael Frederick of Skowhegan recently graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
Frederick’s nine weeks of training included studying the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons and more.
He joined the Army in 2011 as a paralegal. He is also a 2005 Madison Area Memorial High School graduate. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2011 from Maine Maritime Academy, Castine.
Frederick is the son of Michele and Mark Frederick of Skowhegan.
