WILTON — Residents will get a chance to tour the sewer treatment plant before they vote at the upcoming annual Town Meeting on whether to approve a $4.8 million project to finish upgrades for the aging system.

The plant at 78 Davis Court will host open houses today and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon each day, with tours of the areas that will be upgraded if the project is approved at the June 18 meeting.

The proposed project is the second of two phases to improve the town’s 34-year-old wastewater treatment system.

If passed, the project would require an added $177 per year for the next 30 years on sewer bills. The project would make upgrades to the treatment plan.

The town’s 944 sewer customers are already slated to pay an added $213 per year over the next 30 years on a previously approved project that primarily improves the pump stations.

For more information about the projects or tours, call the town office at 645-4961.
